Passage through the corridors of history

XIMR> History - St. Xavier's College

I am St. Xavier's College, Mumbai.
and I bear testimony to a great historical adventure.
Built into my masonry are mingled emotions of the German Jesuits who came to India on their reise, or journey , more than 150 years ago.
Through my corridors have passed a remarkable group of people who, of course, didn't know at the time that they were so remarkable.
They formed the vanguard of an educated army of thousands launched upon the world over the years.
What stories I could tell - of their whispered conversations, their dreams and aspirations.
One thing I will talk about is the day girls were admitted to the college for the first time. .

That was 1912.
They didn't just add colour... they also challenged the boys both in academics and sports.

The Xavier Institute of Management & Research shares the Xavier legacy of great education wrapped in uncompromising values.
Will it live up to the challenge?
Re-invent the nature of management education?

I have a feeling it will.
